Put Your Inner Sparkle on Display

As the temperatures drop and the holidays approach, it's time to celebrate the season in style. Winter weddings and holiday events bring a unique charm that’s always a little extra exciting to dress up for in delightfully shimmery outfits. Here are a few styling ideas that will leave a lingering impression at your next winter gathering.
When it comes to holiday events, fabrics like velvet and satin will always be your friends. Luxurious materials will not only keep you warm, they also exude elegance. Opt for a velvet dress or a satin blouse paired with tailored pants for a sophisticated look or a knit dress with metallic fibers woven into the fabric for a comfy and cozy garment that has just the right amount of sparkle.
As a texture lover, I never miss an opportunity to channel my inner snow queen with faux fur accents. Whether it's a faux fur cowl, a faux fur-lined coat or even fuzzy accessories like handbags or gloves, one or two cozy additions easily elevate a simple cold-weather look. A small and fluffy sherpa or boucle clutch adds a great texture layer to silky or velvet eveningwear.
Finally, if you’re looking to really bring home the holiday glam vibe, don’t shy away from accessories. Chandelier earrings are my favorite way to add festive flair to a simple black dress or pantsuit with hair tied back in a simple ponytail or knot. Mixed metals add a ton of visual interest while still being an understated touch. Think “merry and bright” when browsing your local Style Encore for a glittering clutch, dazzling necklace or eye-catching bangle.
No matter what your winter style consists of, confidence is always the biggest eye-catcher, so make sure to wear what makes you comfortable to transform any winter party into a frosty fashion-forward affair.
