Summer Concert Looks for Him & Her
Posted by Chelsea Lankford on Jul 29th 2025
There’s nothing like live music on a blue-sky summer day, but having the perfect blend of style and comfort in your outfit is where the real harmony happens. Whether he’s rocking a flannel and sneakers or she’s pairing cowboy boots with a breezy dress, it’s all about dressing for the vibe and the weather. Headed to a genre-specific show or a four-band bill at your local state fair? I’m sharing a few tips on what to wear and how to wear it below—all you need to do is remember your sunscreen.
My go-to concert uniform starts with a graphic tee, whether it's a nod to the band I’m seeing or just a way to bring personal flair. I’d pair mine with vintage cutoffs for comfort, or for more movement, a flowy skirt in any length. For men, a standout tee looks cool and classic with worn-in jeans or slim shorts that end just above the knee. You can always accessorize with a great hat, a chic belt, or simple jewelry—and the same goes for the guys.
If a one-piece is what you tend to reach for, choose a lightweight dress under an oversized button-up or breathable jacket. Summer concerts often mean high heat during the day and a breeze by sundown, so layering is a good default. A timeless layered look for men is an open short-sleeve button-up shirt over a plain tee in complementary colors or thoughtfully mixed prints, like checks and a botanical print, or stripes with abstract graphics.
Finally, there’s footwear to consider when you’ll be on your feet for hours (both standing and dancing). Platform sandals are a great option for breathability and comfort, or a reliable pair of sneakers that will provide more than enough support. Just try to avoid flat, bare-minimum sandals like flip-flops for this occasion—it’s too easy to get stepped on in a concert crowd! At the end of the day, music and fashion share the same single rule: express yourself. Picking out a few new pieces for your summer concert wardrobe at Style Encore will ensure you are able to do just that.
